Meet the Author
Cathy Barnes
Cathy Barnes, although born in Michigan, has deep Arkansas roots. Her family
returned to Arkansas when she was growing up and Cathy graduated as salutatorian
of her class at Bigelow High School in Perry County, Arkansas. Cathy pursued
banking courses in college and attended a business college in El Paso,
Texas. She married Bobby J. Barnes, a teacher, in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Bobby taught in New Mexico and North Dakota before accepting a position
in Morrilton, Arkansas, in 1983. Cathy and Bobby are the parents of teenagers,
Adam and Dustin. Cathy has held a variety of positions in her business
career, but has chosen now to manage the ranch she and her husband own
at St. Vincent, Arkansas. Genealogy is Cathy’s hobby, and she manages the
Icenogle research site on the Internet.
